Building a weekly reporting calendar that fits a small product team

A practical way to schedule funnel and retention reviews so event tracking strategy and reporting stay connected.

Wall calendar with marked dates in a bright office

Many teams collect dozens of charts and still skip the conversation that should follow. A reporting calendar is simply an agreement about which questions earn a recurring meeting and who brings the numbers.

Start with three questions

  1. Where did this week’s funnel break relative to last week?
  2. Which retention cohort moved for reasons we can name?
  3. Which experiment needs a go / hold decision?

If a chart does not help answer one of those, it can live in an ad-hoc folder instead of the weekly pack.

Tie each question to named events

Write the event names beside each agenda item. When signup_completed and signup_button_tapped both appear in different slides, the calendar exposes the conflict before the meeting runs long.

Keep ownership light

One product owner presents the funnel spine; one marketing owner presents acquisition context; engineering joins when instrumentation drift is suspected. Rotating presenters works only after definitions stabilize.
